The Story of One Chandelier

Acquired in 1973 — by waiting list, through a friend, on a pram frame. It outlived the omen that crystal brings money, one evroremont, and fifteen years in storage. In 2026 it was finally offered a ceiling of its own height.

The Door

Hung in 1961 — pine, panels, four hundred a day off the factory line. Under the layers of paint, two pencil height charts thirty years apart. It spent twenty-three years as a dacha tabletop, and in 2026 a house where everything is made to measure rebuilt one doorway to standard for it.
